"don't look back"

someone whom i dearly miss in the whole mess of life, future, past and present times wrote this:

[...]no plans whereever you go and you are still excited where you end up next, what country you go to afterwards to visit mates you met in the country before, how close good and bad are to each other. realizing that the world is really such a small place you meet people again you met in other countries years before ....just in a random shop in a random suburb. realizing the world is so small you find matching people everywhere and the worlds just open to you, waiting for you, you can go whereever you want, every continent, every country, every town has another story for you. realizing you are really out there in the real life.
never going backwards, just going with your fortune, but whereever you end up you know what goes around comes around. all that hospitality, those friendships, that help, tips, love, respect people give you and they do not care who you are or where you are from, they just do it. learning to appreciate little things you couldnt get any pleasure off in your own spoiled culture, the experience of this incredible hospitality, probably making a more openhearted person. just adventure at every single corner, enjoying every single moment because you will learn a lot.

this cannot be it. waiting for the next playground: in another country. another culture. with other people. getting out of your old habits, scenes, inner and outer compulsions, indoctrinated by society and groups, giving them up.

someone just said

those who know can't explain
those who don't, can't understand

no regrets, they don't work!

ages ago. i happened to stumble across it tonight [like so many nights before]

sometimes i wonder whats out there. in the world. i know im not exactly the one to complain since ive probably seen more, experienced more than the normal person at the age of 24 but still. there is so much more out there. and it would feel weird to stop now. whatever heartbreaks, loneliness and stuff this life brings, the more you experience it, the more you are willing to give up everything (again), pack your bags, drop off the boxes with whats left of your life at someones place and be gone. may it be weeks, months, years. you are willing to do it. no plans, no cash, no place to stay, no clue where to go just this vision that the grass might be greener wherever you go and your determination to change whatever has been bothering you.

ive had this "to do list" in my head for ages. places i still want to see, countries i want to travel to, things i want to experience.. people i want to meet that i have no clue are existing somewhere out there. i dont want to get stuck in some midlife crisis regretting that i never took the chances this world is offering me.

  1. turku, tampere, stockholm, lapland, the north pole
  2. riga and tallinn
  3. russia, st petersburg and moscow
  4. camping trips in germany and around germany
  5. portugal, faro
  6. australia, melbourne
  7. canada, vancouver
  8. drive all the way to alaska
  9. drive all the way from alaska down to the tip of southamerica
  10. new zealand to see all those places she loved so much
  11. southpacific islands
  12. australia, melbourne, perth, blue mountains
  13. japan
  14. take the train from moscow to beijing, travel around china, take the silkroad
  15. escape the ordinary.

i guess thats all i can think of for the very moment. im sure there are still plenty of other places that i want to see and i can already picture myself standing infront of that huge worldmap hanging in my room, putting pins to wherever i want to go at some point in my life.

but what really matters is to have plans. maybe we wont achieve everything we have planed for this life of ours, but at least we could try.
this world is huge.

"look at the world with wonder and awe because it's huge and scary and sad and beautiful and did you know that we had fingerprints so that the skin of our fingers is held together better to prevent stress from sideways friction? Just that blows my mind. The world is so - words can't even describe it. Words can't describe most things these days."
the person who wrote this is one of the most inspiring ppl ive ever met and i wish i could still have him in my life. but things change, so do we.
if you ever happen read this,i miss you.

"They say "time's tide will smother you" so hold your breath. We can't go back to where we lost ourselves, to where our memories are trapped like insects in amber, prisoners of the past. I miss those times. I wish that I could relive those days, but like sand through our fingers they just slip away."
